I discovered the joy of working with other artists at a residency at Sanquhar, Scotland and Kolaj Fest in New Orleans in 2023. Out of the Collective Spirit of Collage the idea of Berlinage was born. My hometown has been the center of my attention for a long time: As an editor of Berlin Magazine „Zitty“ I have been collecting and telling Berlin stories for many years, as a travel writer I try to find out what defines the the places I go.
So I was curious to explore the city in an intuitive non-linear way and to create a platform for others to do so too.
Berlin is so complex, multi-layered, contradictory and chaotic that collage seems to me the perfect medium to capture it.
